Dear Amig@s, Thank you for believing in Self Help Graphics & Art. It’s because of your support and involvement that we continue to advance Latino culture through the arts. I am writing today to ask for your continued support. It’s been an incredible year! After nearly 40 years, we moved to a new home in Boyle Heights, where a continued tradition of sharing culture and experience through art is finding new breath within a local renaissance. Our new 1st Street home is literally the first stop on the Metro Gold Line, providing even greater access to our comunidad. Self Help Graphics’ new home brings infinite opportunities for more partnerships and more arts-related activities in a city where budget cuts have decimated arts projects and arts in schools. At a time of great uncertainty in our nation, the need for creative expression – especially among our Latino youth – is more important than ever before. Since our move, we have seen an overwhelming increase in requests for our services. This past year, Self Help Graphics served more than 10,000 people through a mix of programming for people of all ages, including professional artists, youth and families, and hosted special events such as our 38th Annual Día de los Muertos celebration – all of which we provide at little or no cost. Imagine what more we could do with your support. Self Help Graphics cannot solely rely on funding from foundations, corporations or government in this economic climate—we need you. Help us to continue our critical role as a conduit of creativity for our community.
